Here's How to Change the Location of the Google Drive Folder in Windows 10

 

If you are currently using Google Drive to store / backup data on a PC / laptop, then you must know that the backup data is stored in a folder. By default this folder is on your computer's C: / drive, but when the C drive starts to fill up you'll have to move it. The way to change the location of the Google Drive folder in Windows 10 is as follows.

We know that the Windows 10 OS system as well as the program installation files are located in Drive C. If, a storage problem occurs, is it possible to change the location of the Google Drive folder on a Windows 10 PC? The answer is yes, you can change the data backup folder so that Drive C can return to normal.

Then Click on the cloud icon in the lower right corner in the System tray

Then click on the three vertical dots button and from that menu select Preferences

On the left panel, select Settings and after that select Disconnect account and confirm by clicking Disconnect

Next, select Backup and Sync from the system tray and At this point, you will have to log back in with whatever Gmail account you have

Authenticate your login identity via smartphone

Choose which folder you want to backup then there will be an option Folder location

Click Change to replace the default C: drive folder location with another drive on your Computer

Now you can choose a new directory and create a new folder in it where all backups and syncs from now onwards will be stored (choose a new directory and create a new folder within it)
